co/careers Job Description Position requires thorough knowledge of civil engineering analysis and design techniquesResponsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteriaDevise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and the firm standardsDesigns and supervises construction projects such as site plans, roads, bridges, channels, dams, and drainage infrastructureResponsibilities also include preparing proposals and establishing completion datesRequires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and min2 years of experience in the field or in a related areaHas knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within civil engineeringWorks under immediate supervisionPrimary job function sometimes requires exercising independent judgmentTypically reports to a supervisor or managerTypical duties will include but not be limited to the preparation and/or modification of the following:
Civil engineering calculationsCivil engineering plans, design, and layoutCivil project specificationsCivil engineering portion of project cost estimate.
