To perform diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine examinations utilizing radionuclides as ordered by a physician, following the established policies of the Department.
Able to provide appropriate care for patients served, regardless of age.
Must provide on call coverage on weekends, holidays and off shifts as deemed necessary in order to maintain level of departmental services.
This job description and requirements for this position have been approved by the Medical Chairman for the Department of Diagnostic Imaging as well as the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff.

Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination and assists in therapeutic treatments under the direction of a Radiologist, following the established policies of the department, and following all NRC and State Regulations.

Obtains patient history and evaluates pre-requisites for examination including consent when needed.

Assesses, evaluates and informs physician of changes in patient's condition during procedure.
Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including adult and geriatric populations.

Responsible for the safety of patients and staff.

1Observes Nuclear Medicine safety precautions at all times.
Acts as a resource to staff regarding Nuclear Medicine safety.
Understands proper use of all equipment, never operating equipment inconsistent with manufacturer's standards.
Responsible for proactive stance in 'near miss' reporting.
Completes incident/occurrence reports in a timely fashion.
Actively participates in performance improvement activities related to patient and staff safety.

Contributes to the productivity and efficient operation of the department.

1Completes assignments within a reasonable time frame with minimal errors.
Reviews next day and makes necessary preparations.
Exhibits punctuality and flexibility in schedule.
Covers 'on-call' rotation in a responsible manner, responding on-site within forth-five (45) minutes of contact.
Maintains work area to promote efficient operation (i.

Assuring availability of stock supplies).

EXPERIENCE Experience in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Additional experience in PET imaging is preferred.

in the category of Nuclear Medicine or credentialed with The NMTCB SPECIAL SKILLS Radiation Safety skills that pertain to the Nuclear Medicine Technologist PHYSICAL DEMAND Standing and walking most of the day.
Working with lightweight equipment with occasional lifting, pushing and pulling heavy objects.
Must have the ability to see and hear all the surrounding activities in the Deparmtent.
May be exposed to infectious diseases, or hazardous materials including radioactivity.
Must at times wear eye protection, lab coat, face protection, sterile gowns and gloves.
Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances.
Handles emergency or crisis situations.
Average Nuclear Medicine and clinical radiology setting.
